These San Francisco engagement photos were so much fun to shoot!! Tony was a great high school friend of mine so I was so thrilled when I found out he proposed to Anina and wanted me to be their wedding photographer. We chose to take their engagement photos in San Francisco and it couldn’t have worked out any better!
How they met:
Anina and Tony met at Lucas Films where they both interned. After the internship was over Tony got hired, moved to San Francisco, and they always joked that he stole her job. (Even though she stole his heart later on 😉 ) Shortly after Anina got hired as well because she was so loved. Anina and Tony became friends and finally decided to go on a date.
The Proposal Story:
Tony and Anina traveled a lot for work over the last year. I believe they mentioned that they had over 40 flights in one year! But because they worked together they were never alone and Tony was so nervous about keeping the proposal a secret. So one time all the stars aligned. Tony finally had a trip without Anina ( which never happens!). And it was perfect timing because it was right around her birthday. So he made a plan. He would travel for work and then arrive back on her birthday so he could grab birthday drinks with her and her family.
Tony traveled to Los Angeles and while he was there he picked out a ring with his parents (Great job Tony!!!). He wanted to make the proposal special for her and wanted to set something great up. Tony pretended that his flight was delayed and told her to grab food with her parents and he would join them when he landed.
Tony set up the proposal at the same spot where they had their first date and when Tony said he chickened out kissing her for the first time ;). He set up candles and was ready to go! Anina and her family showed up and then Tony got down on one knee. They were so excited and both of them just kept saying YES!!! They celebrated with friends and family and were both filled with so much joy!
The Engagement Session:
Tony and Anina were so fun and outgoing. We decided to shoot at all of their favorite locations. We started at Causwells, which is in Chestnut Street. Chestnut Street is one of their favorite places to go for date night so it was the perfect start to their session. After some amazing food and cocktails, we hit the city and explored all the amazing streets and colorful houses that lined the city. After we had fun dancing in the street we decided to end the night on the rooftop of their apartment. But that wasn’t it! The next morning we woke up at sunrise, grabbed some Starbucks (of course lol), and went to where they work at Lucas Films. We walked around the campus, which is STUNNING, and then had to stop by the Yoda fountain for a few pics. After that, we ended at the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts. This place was such an aw moment. The architecture was out of this world and I was blown away by its beauty. By far one of my favorite places for photos. These two rocked their San Francisco engagement photos and I cannot wait for their wedding next year at Casino San Clemente.
