Emily and Nick’s Santa Barbara engagement photos really encompass who these two are. They met at a house party when they attended college in Santa Barbara. After dating for 7 years Nick was ready to propose. These two had planned a trip to Hawaii, but unfortunately had to cancel their trip due to Covid.

So instead they decided to plan a trip to San Diego with close friends. Since it was the same weekend as Nick’s birthday Emily decided to throw Nock a themed birthday party. They held the birthday party in the back of their Air BnB and while overlooking the backyard view Nick got down on one knee costume and all. Emily was not expecting it and it turned into the best birthday surprise! These two are getting married at the Westlake Village Inn and I cannot wait to capture their special day!

Our first stop was the Funk Zone. This area has the cutest clothing stores and restaurants.

We also walked around downtown Santa Barbara!

Emily and Nick also wanted to incorporate their convertible into some of their shots. They have been on a lot of driving trips in this car, so we just had to fit it into some of their Santa Barbara engagement photos.

We ended their session at the beautiful Santa Barbara Courthouse. This courthouse is always one of my favorites to shoot at. The architecture is stunning and you can always find so many variety of locations to shoot within the courthouse grounds.
