Brittany and CJ’s Darlington House wedding was filled with laughter, joy, and so much dam fun! This venue is historic charm meets modern elegance. Brittany and CJ immediately fell in love with this venue. They especially loved that the design of the house was a melting pot of architectural styles from all over the world. The Darlington House provided a variety of portrait locations and could not have been a better backdrop for these two when they said I do! So thankful that Brogen Jessup brought me on as her second photographer. Scroll down and check out their amazing day!
The Darlington House truly has the most beautiful getting ready room. With the light colors and the natural light pouring in we were able to create the most breathtaking portraits of Brittany.
Besides wanting a first look with her groom, Brittany wanted to share a special moment with her father and do a daddy daughter first look. And boy was it special!
Funny story about the bowtie! CJ got this really cool bowtie for him, but what he didn’t know was that he had to figure out how to tie it! And unfortunately all of the groomsmen had never worn a bowtie before so to youtube they went! It took a few tries, but they eventually got it! By the time cocktail hour rolled around CJ said screw it and took the bow tie off! That is my kind of groom: someone who will just go with the flow and not let the details bother him!
Okay get your tissues out! This first look was EVERYTHING! We chose to do the first look in front of this white wall and I am so glad we did! By choosing this wall that most people wouldn’t think twice about, it gave us the perfect backdrop to showcase CJ’s and Brittany’s emotion as they saw each other for the first time. Without any distractions around them you can truly see the beauty of their love and emotion as they saw each other.
Brittany’s floral bouquet matched her Darlington House wedding to a T! This is hands down one of my favorite bouquets.
This bridal party was so much fun! We walked the streets of La Jolla and just captured them all hanging out. No pressure just fun!
The Darlington House also has this upstairs library that was so perfect for some couple portraits.
The one thing I love about the Darlington House is the variety of locations. This venue gives you the beach, greenery, architecture, and much more! By having a versatile wedding venue you are able to create a variety of photos and really get a lot more!
So there are so many favorites from this day, but one of Brittany & CJ’s favorite moment from their Darlington House wedding was when they read their vows privately to each other. CJ was a little nervous doing it in front of a crowd and these two really wanted to share a special moment between the two of them. During their vows Brittany and CJ had tears in their eyes. I even had tears in my eyes as I captured their love behind my camera. This moment was so intimate and special and they said it was one of the best decisions of their whole wedding day. They got a private special moment between them that they will cherish forever.
Brittany and CJ’s ceremony took place in the courtyard of the Darlington House.
The moment before Brittany walked down the aisle was so special between her and her dad. Brittany’s dad gave her a glance and you could just tell how proud he was of her.
Okay how freaking cute are these heart glasses! I think every bride needs a pair of these. They are just so fun! You can get them from Free People here.
Brittany and CJ were the coolest couple! I mean who else would just sit down on the curb, chill, and soak it all in!
As we walked through the streets of La Jolla we came across this beautiful house. It reminded us of a Tuscany Villa and was perfect for a few photos! These two were also honeymooning in Italy so it couldn’t have been more perfect!
To end their husband and wife sunset portraits we headed to the beach.
After their sunset portraits Brittany and CJ headed to cocktail hour!
Brittany and CJ’s wedding reception was such a beautiful set up. The bride and groom, along with their wedding party, were seated at a long table. The floral centerpieces were elegant and added the perfect touch.
Okay moment #3 when you will cry during this wedding. As Brittany and CJ were sharing their first dance, Brittany’s dad began sobbing. And I mean sobbing! Get ready to be emotional when you see the next few images!
And then the party started! Brittany threw her sunglasses back on and danced like there was no tomorrow!
Brittany and CJ could not have asked for a better wedding day! When asked to look back on their Darlington House wedding they just smiled. Brittany said she remembers having so much fun and there being so much love! It was truly the best day of their lives!
